The Companion Report is launching a daily news column today. Here is what to expect.
What this is
Short posts on what is happening in the AI companion industry. Model updates, app changes, lawsuits, regulatory moves, viral moments, the things vendors do not put in their own press releases. Each post is meant to be readable in a couple of minutes and link to primary sources where they exist.
What this is not
Press release rewriting. Vendor announcements get covered, but not by retyping the headline. If an app pushes a major model change, we will tell you what changed in practice, what users are saying about it, and what we think it means for whether the app is still worth your money.
This is also not a comments section. The conversation about the news happens in the communities we track, and we will link out to the relevant Reddit and Discord threads when there is one worth pointing at.
Cadence
Daily on weekdays, at minimum. Bigger features and reviews continue to land separately under Apps, Adult, Guide, and Research at the cadence each requires.
How to follow
RSS. Newsletter signup is not yet live; we will add one once there is enough material to justify someone giving us their email address.
Tipping us
If you work at a companion app and your team just shipped something we should know about, write us at the contact form. If you are a user and noticed something has changed (a model swap, a feature removal, weird new behavior), same address. We read everything. We do not promise to cover everything, and we do not change verdicts in exchange for a tip.
